 My dentist is advising me to finish my dental work before year's end so I don't lose my dental insurance benefits. I am not canceling the policy, why can't I wait until next year?
 There are many reasons not to wait, the most important being dental problems never become smaller or less involved. Regarding dental insurance, each year your insurance plan sets a maximum dollar amount they will pay on your behalf. Unused dollars don't carry over to the next year - they are lost. By putting off treatment, you get to keep paying your premiums but you don't receive the benefits you are paying for. When you wait to get the work done you will be using dollars that count against the next year's maximum, which you might need for future issues that arise. Take your dentist's good advice and schedule treatment today. Appointments become scarce closer to the year's end just for this reason.
